Artsy Fartsy
That was a phrase my buddy James used to use (redundant, I know), when he first found out I was an artist. Teh heh, I always find it amusing how people fall all over themselves suddenly being nice to me, in hopes I'll draw something for them. I like helping others as much as the next person, but you can't draw what you don't feel like drawing, you know? Or you can, it just doesn't come out well.
Anyways, as soon as I get off my lazy butt, I'm gonna scan the second hour Auron, and post a link. I've also been inspired by the Final Fantasy IX art book (if you haven't seen that, you GOT to--it's incredible!). The original chara sketches (which look a little funky, save for Steiner, who, I think, looks better in his original than he does now) all have these little critters included behind or around the charas...familiars or something. Anyways, I'm doing something like that for the FFX bunch. Auron's came to me first (naturally), as a floating, half bird, half "reaper" kinda thing. Wakka's was next, as a Gomamon/Dewgong/Wakka combo--very odd. I decided a Lulu doll would be the perfect familiar for Lulu, and I'm in the stages of sketching out a raccoon rikku for Rikku. Dunno what I'll do for the other three.
And this is all in addition to my art class homework...whee.
Rondoism
Ugh, I'm not putting one up today. Let's just say I managed to stomp on a previously unknown pet peeve...big time. Ouch. At least I still have my job. ^-^ Odd thing was, after he yelled at me pretty good, he sulked for the rest of the day. Odd......
I swear it!
Mmm, normally, I'm all against swearing. Still trying to stay that way. But work was so horrid (no excuse, I know), that I was flinging D's, H's and the occasional S everywhere. One of my co-workers nearly spazzed.
C-W: GINNY! What's with your cussing?!?
Me: *starting out in bad temper, then turning meek* I...um, ah, oh......*blushing for being caught*
C-W: You don't normally cuss--why are you doing this?!?
Me: *very meek* ........because it makes me feel better.
Rondo: Now you see why I do it so much.
New Prayer Request
Girl in my art class seems hypochondriactic, but she was talking about her ailments so emphatically, I decided to include her, too. Poor thing's "falling apart", in her words.
And one of my co-workers FINALLY had her baby! Freaky thing? I had dreamed the day the baby was gonna be born and I was right! o_O
And now...

Right Now
My dad's watching some creepy movie about a town infested with killer rattlesnakes. I dunno why--he HATES snakes. Spazzes at the sight of a grass snake. Naturally, I had just come home to eat, so I had to listen to all this screaming and shrieking going on...didn't help my apetite much. >_<

I finished my Aeon Auronite piccie, but the only problem is, I can't host the full blown version. I only have a 33% online, and it kills all the detail.

It's part of a progressive piece for my art class--I'm scanning what it looks like after each hour I work on it. I plan to finish this one in color.
Prayer Time
My mom is still in the frontline of prayer needing. My buddy's wife is in Africa as a missionary, so a prayer to keep her safe. And for DJ...that she be careful about who she is with.
Rondoisms
There's a guy at my place of work called Rondo--my boss. And one would describe him as a short tempered, hot headed, vulgar mouthed wacko who thinks feelings are for wusses. I'd have to agree, in a light hearted, comical sense. Great guy, he really is. And as odd as it is, he somehow manages to impart some life truth unconsciously. I wouldn't tell him that, though--he'd flat out disagree. So, starting tomorrow, I'll have some Rondoisms up here.
Comparing Charas
ChronoTrigger, FF7, FF9, and of course FF10, are all great RPGs. Oddly enough, their characters seem quite similar. For example:
TIDUS--Fun loving "main chara" sword weilder. Reminds me of Crono (CT), though he talks more; to a slight extent, Cloud (FF7), but without the overwhelming emotion issues; and Zidane (FF9), naturally.
YUNA--Quiet, sweet, high class white mage. Marle/Nadia (CT), but more respectful; Aeris easily, with a touch of Tifa (FF7); Garnet/Dagger (FF8) hands down, with the whole living up to her parent bit.
KIMAHRI--Protective, quiet Ronso. As far as CT goes, a cross of Robo and Frog/Glenn. In FF7, I could almost swear RedXIII/Nanaki was Kimahri's predecessor; in FF9, Quina, only for the reason that both can learn Enemy Skills--also Steiner, for the whole protective over the important main girl chara bit--Freya seems the strongest comparison, however.
RIKKU--Playful thief inventor of the Al Bhed. CT's Lucca with that inventive streak in her Overdrive and the way she hangs over Tidus sometimes; FF7's Yuffie, of course--the two are nearly identical; FF9's Eiko for the whole hanging over Tidus bit again, but for a different reason.
WAKKA--Another fun lover. This is going to be odd, but I think he reminds me of CT's Ayla...dunno why; both tend to rush in and whack away, and ask questions later. A smidgen of FF7's Barrett and Cid, but mostly Cait Sith like. Finish that with FF9's Quina, for the whole fun loving bit, and a touch of Vivi, for wondering where exactly he (Wakka) is going in life.
LULU--Black Mage. You'd instantly think Magus for her in CT, but Lucca is more like her, for the sister like relationship with the main girl chara. FF7's Vincent, Tifa, and RedXiii make a nice combination here--black magic, sisterly relationship, and wisdom beyond her years. FF9's Vivi takes the prize, with Eiko's sisterly bit as well.
AURON--My fab...ah, I mean, the mysterious swordsman. CT's Magus/Janus right off, for tragic past, blah blah blah, and I guess Frog too, when you think about it. FF7's Vincent for tragic past again, and a touch of Barrett for obligations to others. A slight bit of FF9's Armamant for his keeping to himself bit, and Steiner for keeping to his duty rather than himself.
Well, that's my shpiel for the day.

OK, I did press Publish this time, but got a "Cannot display page" deal or something like that this time. I can't even remember half the stuff I wrote, and I'm really not going to bother trying. Cramps my creativity.
Complaining About FFX
Told you I'd be talking about this a lot. ;)
Is anyone else worried about Lulu accidentally, ahem, falling out during a battle? My mom came in my room while I was playing the other night, and her eyes bugged at Lulu. "Not backwards in coming fowards 'bout her cleavage, is she?" Mom groaned.
And then there's Auron. All character design and Overdrives aside, what is the DEAL with that jug? He's a closet drunk or something? ^^; And the beads!?! He's a warrior monk, not some frigging arts and crafts kid!
We interrupt this rant
Sorry I'm going whack like this--isn't normal for me. Just had a long day that isn't over yet. So typing here's kinda a nice release. ^-^ I'm worried about my buddy DJ--she came to my place of work today, and I was so happy to see her, haven't seen her in a while. But she was dressed Goth (not that I have anything against that!). And I had to remember not to be judgmental when I saw her friends. But when I found her in the smoking section, puffing away...*sighs heavily* DJ's changed so much. She's not like I remember her...was that my fault for not keeping in contact...?
More Complaining
Tidus' pants aren't a new thing. When I was younger, I tried something similar--jeans with one leg cut off, one rolled up. Didn't work too well, 'cause the rolled part caused too much pressure, but I like how Tidus wears his.
Yuna's ok, I guess. Erhm, is she supposed to have one green eye, and one blue?
Kimahri's fine, so's Wakka. Rikku is, as well, but Mom thought her shorts were awfully short.
Back to Auron now...for a guy that takes friggin' FOREVER to attack, he sure complains about hurrying up alot.
Like last night, while I was training for Yunalesca:
*Slice, thwap, roar...victory music*
Auron: That's how it's done.
Me: Thankies.
*Slice, thwap, SCREECH, steal...victory music*
Auron: Let's move.
Me: Just a minute...
*Chunk, steal, slice slice FOOSH...victory music*
Auron: There's no time to waste--let's go!
Me: Hush, you.
*(more battle sounds)...victory music*
Auron: *pushing his shades up* Hmmph.
Me: Oh, quit already, I'm controlling your every move. So you'll move when I SAY you'll move.
Auron: *scowl*
(Note: He really does say all those things...I find that hilarious. One of my other favorites is when Tidus uses his Flee for the first time: "I won't go so easy on you next time!" Heh...stupid Cactuar.)

Now to end this FFX laden post--I'VE FINALLY BEATEN YUNALESCA!!! Ah, sweet victory. Now we can move on in the game.

Well, my "younger sis" got me going on this. An online diary? Sure, why not. Great way for us to keep tabs on each other. What with me being in college and all. We only get to chat on the weekends now, and you know how that is...People have lives (or so I'm told oO), and usually spend their weekends out of the house. Well, for all my buddies out there, this is for you, too! ;)

Yup, guess what game I'm into? FFX. Guess what game I've been playing like crazy? FFX. Guess what game has been keeping me up till 1am every morning for the past few days? (OK, enough of the stupid questions.)

Prayer Requests
You need something to pray about? I've always got something to share.
Like my mom. The doctors found she has a blockage in her kidney. Not sure if it's cancer or not. I'm scared all the same. Mom's been around all my life and I dunno what I'd do without her. I've already lost my uncle this past May and it had me questioning my faith for a while. Still am, a little, I guess.
Drawing
Let's see, since I am on an Auron kick right now...I've got Auron as a Griffon Aeon...looks pretty awesome. Well, it should--I've just spent a college class's worth of money on art supplies. Ah, curse of the artist. I'm also planning to make a young Auron, and maybe just a direct copy out of the manual one of him.
But, then again, that depends on how much time I have left after playing FFX and going to college and work. >_< I'll get to them when I get to them...
